Essential Functions
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Position oversees and coordinates complex clinical research studies; serves as a resource to provide comprehensive information to clinical research staff by promoting a smooth operation of clinical research; responsible for preparation of budgetary reports and ensures billing and regulatory compliance standards are maintained; may supervise clinical research staff.
**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
1. Ensures that clinical laboratory quality assessment and research projects are completed according to IRB, external lab regulatory and federal guidelines.
2. Works with Neuromuscular Director to design, perform, and evaluate clinic and clinical procedures and data collection pertaining to the NM Lab. Collects patient data to coordinate with Neuromuscular Clinical Laboratory and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
3. Assists in NM Lab budget development, dispensing of neuromuscular funds and assessment of salary sourcing in consultation with Neurology Customer Internal Support (NCIS). Provides high level of direct and indirect support and information.
4. Supervises Neuromuscular clinical research professional staff with Neuromuscular Section Head.
5. Works closely with NCIS to assure appropriate communication between administration and section. Attends monthly departmental Clinical Leadership meeting. Facilitates the implementation of and ensures compliance with departmental/medical school/University policies and procedures.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience required; some level of lead or supervisory experience preferred; a combination of work and education equaling 7 years may substitute for this requirement
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor degree plus 4 years of clinical experience with at least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience included: 5 years of relevant education and work experience may substitute for this preferred qualification.
* Effective analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate in oral and written form with all levels of personnel; ability to prioritize tasks in a diverse environment; must have demonstrated leadership and interpersonal.
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $54,267 - $69,201 annually.
